and Loving Kindness"
Sacred Heart believes that through social interaction, our students build character. This is why we offer many extra-curricular activities in edition to our athletic programs, such as Student Government Association, National Honor Society, Beta Club, Music Club, and CANstruction. These organization focus on developing leadership abilities, fostering individual talent, facilitating discipline, and-above all--serving others. The core of each individual's success is his/her connection to the broader needs of the community.
In 1999 the Boy Scouts of America brought the Learning for Life Champion's Program to Jackson Tennessee, and since 2007 Sacred Heart of Jesus High School has been involved, providing assistance with virtue and diligence. Learning for Life's Champion's Program provides students with special needs help in developing social, personal, life, and self-concept skills to assist them in achieving greater self-sufficiency and a fulfilled life. Learning for Life is an educational program specifically designed to meet the needs of youth and schools. It helps children meet the challenge of growing up by teaching character, good decision-making skills, and then takes those skills to real world situations. The program was developed by professional educators and child development experts and was specifically designed to focus on life skills that enable students to have fun while teaching students to build self-esteem, self-reliance, discipline, develop a sense of responsibility, learn the value of helping others, gain an enhanced self-image, and develop a sense of fair play and team spirit. Sacred Heart has been honored to be a part of such a noble endeavor for the past seven years!
