"Command and teach these things. Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Till I come, attend to the public reading of the scripture, to preaching and teaching." (1 Tim 1:11-13)

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Sacred Heart of Jesus High School.  Our high school in some ways mirrors the Catholic Christian Church on earth.  Both started humbly by a group of people who were at times uncertain if the task they were chosen to do was greater than their ability.  But, in both cases, their doubts were alleviated although some times the struggle was immense to the point of being overwhelming.  Today the Catholic Church is in its third millennium and Sacred Heart is growing ever stronger.

If you are looking for a school with spirituality at its core, a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, and an ever growing athletic department, then Sacred Heart is the school for you.  Founded on the guiding principles of St. John Bosco, we offer a liberal arts, college preparatory curriculum based of Religion, Reason, and Loving Kindness.  We educate and develop the total person: mind, body, and soul.

Like the city of Jackson, despite the economic downturn, the school has weathered the storm and has not only been able to maintain, but has thrived.  The school's population has grown steadily each year of its existence and looks to continue to grow for many years to come.  Our athletic program is emerging from its infancy with success and is continuing to grow each year as the school population grows.  We have an active Student Government and many social and academic clubs.

Our students have been accepted to Austin Peay State University, Tennessee Tech, Catholic University, Christian Brothers University, MTSU, St. Louis University, University of Dallas, David Lipscomb University and many other fine institutions.  This is a testament to the fine formation and education that has been provided for our students by their parents, the faculty, the generous donors, and the patronage of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Our students truly leave our school prepared not only for the rigors of college, to which they are readily accepted, but to make a positive contribution to society by setting an outstanding Catholic Christian example for others to follow.

Please feel free to contact the school at 731.660.4774 so that you and your student can be a part of our greatness.
