Principal's WelcomeWelcome to Sacred Heart of Jesus High School! Founded in 2004, Sacred Heart is a vibrant, growing, Catholic liberal arts academy, with a strong college preparatory curriculum. Based on the philosophy of St. John Bosco, our mission is to educate outstanding young men and women through the principles of "Religion, Reason, and Loving Kindness".
Sacred Heart is growing rapidly and has experienced enrollment gains each year since its inception. Much of our school's success is due to the dedication and superior training of our faculty, low student to teacher ratio, and the welcoming and inclusive nature of our student community.
Sacred Heart offers regular, honors, and AP courses, as well as the opportunity to earn dual credits through Jackson State Community College. A trailblazer in the use of technology, Sacred Heart is currently the only area school that issues an iPad 2 to each student for integrated use in classroom instruction. Our students have a 100% college acceptance rate and exceed the national, state, and local averages on the ACT. SHJ students have been admitted to a wide range of colleges, including local and state schools, as well as nationally ranked universities.
Sacred heart of Jesus students are active in athletics, extracurricular, and community service activities. Our athletic program is diverse and includes Football, men's and women's Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Cheerleading, and Cross Country teams. Both Baseball and Women's Softball teams are planned for the 2011-12 school year. Our extracurricular activities include social, academic, and special interest clubs, competitive teams, and community service projects that include the "Knight Times" on-line school newspaper, Forensics, Mock Trial, CANstruction, Student Government, National Honor Society, Art Club, Leadership University, and Champions Day.
